Lessons to Reality
After the Generation 6 tourniquet performed admirably in terms of pressure distribution, a key challenge was how to implement an underside fastening point for the strap as part of a new version for extended series manufacturing. At the same time, with a higher volume of prototypes scheduled, the general industrialization and component optimization became a priority.

Key Features
The main motivation for inventing a new buckle solution was to accomodate the widest range of limb sizes. By bringing the fastening point for the strap on the buckle towards the strap inlet the "bridge" area is minimized.
From prior versions the handle is now oriented more flush with the housing, reducing the overall profile.

Where to Put a Tourniquet
The newest version of the tourniquet features engraved instructions to guide correct placement. Since a tourniquet should be placed 2-3 inches above the wound, the placement can be approximated to one tourniquet width of 2.9". The handle now also features a prompt to engage the handle for pressure build up.
